Natural Cure to skin fungus

How can I treat a toenail fungus naturally?
August | 2012 | Joey Koo

Toenail fungus is caused by an overgrowth of yeast organisms. In my experience, the problem is normally a sign that yeast is active elsewhere in the body, particularly the gut.

Another symptom of excess yeast in the body generally is itching in the skin. What this means is that your toenail fungus and generalised skin itching may indeed be linked.

The reservoir for yeast in the body is the digestive tract. Tackling the yeast here can therefore help to shift fungal infections on the skin.

I would advise you to avoid all foods that feed yeast such as sugar, refined carbohydrates such as white bread and pasta, and alcohol. Other foods that encourage yeast growth are those that contain yeast such as bread, dried fruit, mushrooms, soy sauce, vinegar, peanuts, cheese, and alcoholic drinks.

Eliminate all the above foods from your diet for two months. Keep your diet based around safe foods such as meat, fish, fresh vegetables, brown rice, and oats.

At the same time, it would be a good idea for you to take a good quality supplement containing acidophilus and bifidus bacteria. These healthy strains of bacteria will help restore the natural balance of organisms in your gut, thereby helping to control yeast growth in the body.

Painting tea tree oil onto your toenail may help clear the fungal infection here, as tea tree oil is known to have natural antifungal properties.

More details about yeast in the body and how to tackle it naturally can be found in my book Ultimate Health - 12 Keys to Abundant Health and Happiness.

Toenail fungus is an internal problem

Even if you can kill the fungus growning on the outside of your nail, the fungus will return as soon as you stop the topical treatment (even if you are extremely hygienic about your feet) because the problem is more internal than external. Western medicine recognizes this and prescribes incredibly toxic drugs (taking internally) to combat the fungus. An alternative approach is to reduce the toxins in your diet and allow your body to naturally heal. Wearing sandals or open toed footware does help keep things dry and the skin on your feet healthier.

    • Toenail fungus also known as onychomycosis is caused by a group of fungus called dermatophytes. These fungus are harmful because as they grow they feed on the keratin that makes up the surface of the toe nail. The two fi …gurt and kefir are good sources of probiotics. Reduce intake of refined carbs like sugar, dairy products and vinegar. Olive leaf extract is an excellent internal anti-fungal agent.

      Hope this helps!

    • Bleach is a surface cleanser, not meant for human skin. To kill a fungus, you need an antifungal medication.
